A former public school teacher, Mark has an extensive background in product innovation, professional learning, prize development, and program management, supporting initiatives for the Paul Allen Family Foundation, Corwin Press, Futurekids, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Joyce Foundation, Scholastic, Teaching Channel, and other organizations. He has led the development of over 200 products and a dozen large-scale educational programs that have enhanced the lives of more than 10 million participants in over 75 countries. As Director of Sponsored Programs, Mark advanced Intel Education’s worldwide philanthropic efforts, including the Intel Learn Program, a partnership between governments and non-governmental agencies that helps youth in emerging nations develop 21st century skills, focusing on digital literacy, critical thinking, and collaboration. At the X PRIZE Foundation, he managed a $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to develop a suite of programs to inspire students to explore and pursue careers in alternative fuels, energy efficiency, climate change, and the science, technology, engineering, and math behind advanced vehicle development.
